Mark is an Associate Partner in Ernst & Young Tax Co., specializing in Japanese corporate tax and international tax/cross border transactions. In his primary role, he advises inbound groups on Japanese corporation, withholding and consumption tax issues.
His clients are multinationals groups and fund investors, spanning several sectors including consumer products, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), real estate and renewable energy. He leverages his extensive experience of tax structuring, tax advisory matters, and tax due diligence to support companies to invest and achieve growth in the Japanese market.
Mark is a contributor to external and EY publications on various tax matters including corporate tax guides, PE issues and tax risk management. Beyond EY, he is currently a guest lecturer at Keio University's Law Faculty.
Mark is a UK chartered tax advisor and chartered accountant and has an LLB from the University of Warwick, UK.
