A long-term permanent resident of Japan, Robert focuses on helping large multinational companies in the life science space with their growth strategies for the Japan market.
Robert has a long history in commercial excellence, driving go-to-market and customer engagement strategies with the leadership teams of multinational companies.
Previously Robert worked in a clinical setting at hospitals around the world to develop novel diagnostic methods, medical devices, and advanced analytics to aid patients’ lives. Robert remains passionate about driving innovation for patients in the healthcare space and is actively involved in supporting the startup ecosystem in Japan as well as engaging in policy shaping.
Robert was a Clarendon Scholar at the University of Oxford, England where he obtained both a PhD in Clinical Neuroscience and a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering. Robert also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of Leiden, The Netherlands.

It is this philosophy that Robert wishes to embed in his work and teams at EY, with the ultimate goal of providing our people the best environment to grow and enabling patients around the world to receive the best possible care.
Robert is an active member of the various Chambers of Commerce in Japan, and is well embedded in the local startup ecosystem, providing mentorship to a new generation of innovators.
