Yumi Haraoka is an Indirect Tax Partner at Ernst & Young Tax Co. specializing in global trade.

She began her career on the global trade team of a multinational electronics company before joining an EY member firm in 2010.

In her current role, she provides support in reviewing and restructuring operating models so that clients can manage customs costs while ensuring compliance with import/export requirements. Her experience includes engagements related to imports/exports by non-residents and reducing customs costs by reviewing global production and procurement plans to strategically utilize free trade agreements and reviewing customs classifications and customs valuation positions. She has also reviewed import/export operations to eliminate compliance issues and develop and strengthen compliance programs, and supported clients in managing post-clearance audits and resolving disputes with customs authorities in Japan and other Asian countries.

She graduated with a Master of Laws from Doshisha University, Kyoto.
