Michael oversees the Talent-related functions and processes in EY Asia-Pacific which comprises of more than 60,000 people. He has been a key evangelist in the development of a high-performance teaming culture in the Area.
Michael joined EY as the National Human Resources Director, EY Greater China in June 2007 and became a Partner, EY Greater China in July 2008. He was appointed as the EY Greater China People Leader in July 2010. Prior to joining EY, Michael gained extensive HR experience working with other major professional service firms and multinational companies. His previous role as the Assurance and Advisory People Leader of the legacy Far East Area, continues to help him in the critical cross-border and multi-cultural leadership roles that he manages.
Currently he is a member of the EY Asia-Pacific Area Operating Executive, EY Global Diversity & Inclusiveness Steering Committee and the EY Global Social Equity Task Force.
How Michael is building a better working world
Michael is a promoter of Diversity and Inclusiveness in Asia-Pacific, with a very strong focus on inclusion of successful women, members of the LGBT+ community and persons with disability. He is seen as a strong advocate for employee wellbeing and is committed to paying close attention to the unconscious bias in each interaction and decisions in the workplace.
