Dr Sophie Dawson

Experienced infrastructure leader with passion for DE&I. Enthusiast of Pilates, skilled home baker, and adept number cruncher.

Sophie has over 20 years of experience advising on infrastructure projects across the public and private sectors in New Zealand and Australia. Before joining EY, she spent four years in project finance and transactions advisory at international investment banks in Sydney, and seven years in engineering and research roles in the UK. She brings expertise in leading diverse teams and delivering business cases through to complex transactions.

Sophie holds a PhD and MSc in Engineering and Applied Mathematics from the University of Manchester and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of Warwick. She also earned Financial Analysis and Financial Analysis Systems Certificates from the University of Technology in Sydney.

At EY and across the infrastructure sector, I champion equity and inclusion - serving as a founding member of the Diversity and Women in Infrastructure Advisory Boards for Infrastructure New Zealand and contributing to the Parthenon DE&I Council for EY Oceania.
