SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – 10 September 2025

APRA AMCOS, the organisation representing over 124,000 songwriters, composers, and music publishers across Australia and New Zealand, has collaborated with Ernst & Young Australia (EY) and Microsoft to improve music licensing for businesses and creators.

Using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, Customer Service, Sales and Customer Insights – Journey, the new system will simplify the process for venues and businesses to obtain music licenses through OneMusic. The streamlined approach reduces paperwork and speeds up approvals, allowing venues to play music legally without hassle, while creators get paid faster and more accurately.

Ean Evans, EY Regional Finance and AI-Enabled Automation Leader, Oceania, said: “This project is about making a real difference for everyone involved in music licensing. By updating the technology behind the scenes, we’re helping APRA AMCOS become one of the world’s first music licensing rights organisation to have a seamless, end-to-end solution to serve its members and licensees.”

The new system is a milestone in APRA AMCOS comprehensive digital transformation journey which aims to help the organisation become a digital-first business to enhance customer engagement and experience, while increasing the revenue it pays to its members.

Kirsty Davison, Chief Customer Officer at APRA AMCOS, added: “We want to make sure our members’ music is protected and that they’re paid for their work. This new platform is a big step towards making licensing simpler and faster for businesses to ensure creators get what they deserve.”

APRA AMCOS aimed to address several enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities. Prior to the Dynamics 365 integration, the organisation lacked visibility into the customer lifecycle, had fragmented customer information and limited billing automation capabilities.

By using Dynamics 365, APRA AMCOS established a single source of truth across the organisation, enabling business units to access real-time customer data, automate key services, and streamline customer service operations. This resulted in a more efficient and timely customer service experience for clients.

Rik Irons-Mclean, Chief Technology Officer, Enterprise Commercial at Microsoft ANZ said: “We’re proud to support APRA AMCOS and EY on this project. By implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 for ERP and CRM transformation, we’re making it easier for everyone to manage music licensing without unnecessary delays.”

APRA AMCOS is one of the first Performance Rights Organisations globally to invest in this advanced technology, demonstrating its commitment to the future of music and the success of its members.
