Tori is a tax controversy practitioner in the EY Law New Zealand practice. With a background in tax compliance, legal advisory and legal advocacy, Tori draws on her compliance background to give tax advice to clients that is valuable both from a practical and tax technical perspective.
Tori has significant experience in advising clients on complex transactions, and acting for clients in disputes with Inland Revenue (involving cross-border financing, transfer pricing, avoidance and other tax matters) and Customs, and has represented clients before the Courts and Authorities. She frequently assists clients in reviewing their tax practices prior to any audit or dispute with Inland Revenue. This protects taxpayers by allowing them to correct any practices that may put them at risk in the future and develop robust tax corporate governance policies.
Tori is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. She was previously listed in the International Tax Review - 'Women in Tax Leaders (3rd edition)'.
