EY financial advisor in fund raising from Polar Structure for energy transition start-up

EY has acted as financial advisor to Effektbolaget i Sverige in the capital raise and sale of an 80% stake to Swedish energy transition investor Polar Structure.

Effektbolaget, which will change names to PolarCapacity, is a start-up in the energy sector providing innovative solutions within power and capacity supply, balancing services and other support services to industries and municipalities who faces challenges to expand due to lack of power and capacity.

PolarCapacity is founded by a senior team with longstanding experience from Swedish and international utilities who has seen the need for a provider of local solutions to the growing intermittent electricity supply resulting in increased volatility in supply. The company will work closely together with local and regional utilities and electricity intense industries to provide solutions that cannot be timely met in the current energy system.

EY provided sell-side M&A advisory services to the founders in a competitive process which attracted interest from both Nordic and international investors into energy transition services.
