Become a Chartered Accountant with our Assurance Graduate Programme.

What will my professional development look like?

As part of the Assurance Graduate Programme, you will have the opportunity to pursue an internationally recognised professional accountancy qualification and become a Chartered Accountant. 

Assurance trainees will pursue their ACA Professional Qualification with Chartered Accountants Ireland, via our direct entry or sponsored Masters/Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting routes. 

  1. Your training contract with EY will support you through the completion of relevant work experience and your professional exams.
  2. You will receive paid study leave in excess of the recommended study leave by the Professional Institutes in Ireland. 
  3. EY will pay for all associated costs in relation to tuition and exam entry fees for first attempt exams, admission to membership and subscription fees.

The length of your training contract is determined by the Institute (Chartered Accountants Ireland) based on your educational background:

  • If you have achieved an accredited Masters in Accounting: 3 years
  • If you have achieved an accredited Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting: 3 years
  • If you have completed a Bachelors degree: 3.5 years
  • If you have completed an Accounting Technician qualification: 4 years

ACA exams and paid study leave:

Year 1 – CAP1: 7 weeks study leave

Year 2 – CAP2: 11 weeks study leave

Year 3 - Final Admitting Exams (FAEs): 13 weeks study leave

YOU’RE AN ACCOUNTANT! 

The ACCA qualification pathway is also available to those who have achieved 10 exemptions or more from ACCA Ireland.
