Changes to Japan’s defined contribution pension legislation - Americas

Japanese defined contribution pension plans are changing. Join our English-language webinar for an analysis of legislation to increase flexibility and align with global standards.

Register for this English-language, 90-min webinar with EY professionals who will explain upcoming changes to Japanese legislation on defined contribution (DC) pensions. As one of the fastest-aging countries in the world, corporate pensions remain an important part of the total rewards package in Japan. With declining birth rates shrinking Japan’s working population, older workers are being encouraged to remain in employment beyond the normal retirement age. In parallel, to ease the rising pressure on the social security system, the government is set to pass an amendment to DC legislation in the next year or two.

The changes are expected to align corporate DC plans with commonly adopted international standards. However, depending on the design of existing DC and retirement packages, there could be an unexpected financial impact on plan sponsors who fail to prepare for these changes.

Offered solely in English, this webinar offers an international audience with a rare opportunity to understand the impact of these changes.
