Hiroki Matsumura was appointed Chairman & CEO of Ernst & Young ShinNihon LLC (EY ShinNihon) in July 2025. He was previously EY Japan Financial Services Leader, and a Senior Executive Managing Partner and Financial Services Division Leader at EY ShinNihon.
His EY career spans almost 30 years, with a primary focus on audit and advisory services for major financial institutions, but has also included leadership roles in marketing and talent at EY Japan and talent development at EY ShinNihon.
Outside EY, he is a board member of the Financial Accounting Standards Foundation, and was a member of the Accounting Standards Board of Japan’s Technical Committee (Financial Instruments) and the chairman of the Financial Product Accounting Committee of the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
As a board member of the Aspen Institute Japan for nine years, he contributed to the development of next generation leaders. Currently, he serves as a board member of the Japan Foundation for Accounting Education and Learning.
