“I gained a true appreciation of the importance of embracing diversity during the many years that I lived outside of Japan. My exposure to other cultures, values and ways of thinking at that time equipped me with the knowledge and ability to adopt a multi-faceted approach to understanding and resolving problems. I am always mindful of the importance of valuing different opinions and perspectives and determined to play my part in building a better world by working with and learning from people with different life experiences.”
