Helga is a partner with special responsibility for employment and labor law, education law and D&I. She is a part of EYs global labor law network, which co-ordinates cross border projects. Consulting municipal, state and private enterprises, Helga has supported managers in labor law issues from the beginning to end of working relationships and planning and implementation of change processes. 

Helga has 10 years’ experience as a lawyer and 15 years’ experience as a researcher with the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo. 

Helga is the editor of the commented version of the Norwegian Working Environment Act and the Norwegian Labor Disputes Act and has headed special reports for various public authorities. Her doctoral thesis in 2009 was: "Part-time work Protection against discrimination on a structural and individual basis".

How Helga is building a better working world

Helga is a lecturer and instructor universities and university colleges. She is committed to children having equal opportunities for education. The opportunities for learning one has as a child determine the opportunities later in working life as an adult. Her latest book, Like læringsmuligheter for jenter og gutter i barnehage og skole (Equal Learning Opportunities for Girls and Boys in Preschools and Schools), published in the autumn of 2019. The book provides practical examples of play and learning that can ensure children have equal opportunities to learn.

By disseminating knowledge on what is equal opportunities and how the rules of law create secure and predictable frameworks when acting as a leader, Helga makes an important contribution to EYs goal of “Building a better working world.”
