What is Transaction Strategy and Execution?

In the Transaction Strategy and Execution team, you’ll help EY clients achieve their strategic objectives in acquisitions and divestments. Covering a wide range of operational aspects in a transaction, including synergy assessments, separation readiness and support, operational due diligence and supporting the integration or separation process.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across the entire deal lifecycle and to tap into our diverse areas of expertise along the way. From a personal development perspective, the learning and exposure to a deal is unparalleled.

What could you be doing?

  • Work on market-leading deals
  • Work with a range of EY clients, from entrepreneur led businesses to NZX100 companies
  • Support C-suite clients assess, plan, and execute a divestment or acquisition
  • Develop an understanding of different business functions and contribute to operating model design
  • Perform financial analysis to assess business performance, particularly in relation to operating expenditure and standalone costs
  • Work across the deal lifecycle from due diligence through to integration or separation
  • Perform research and analysis on various sectors and industries
  • Team with colleagues from diverse backgrounds with a range of skills

Your career journey in Transaction Strategy and Execution

As a graduate, you’ll be part of our 12-month graduate development programme that has been developed for graduates in all service lines, and is focused on connection, learning and celebration.

The programme will provide you with the opportunity to network with your peers from other service lines and geographies. Running in parallel to your technical learning, you will develop leadership skills to become a successful graduate, and as you grow as a transformative leader.

As an Transaction Strategy and Execution graduate, you’ll take part in:-

As a intern, after our company induction, you’ll start developing an understanding of how our Transaction Strategy and Execution teams work and will be ready to work alongside teams on real client projects. You’ll meet other new interns from your office.

Your buddy and your counsellor will help you learn your way around the organisation, set your goals and plan your development while you’re here. You'll be well looked after with ongoing learning throughout the Intern Programme with sessions facilitated by our Learning and Development team, Campus Recruitment team and service line specific training.
