EY's Commitment to Disability Inclusion and Accessibility:

Today, over one billion people worldwide live with disability, including EY's staff, clients, and prospective recruits. Notably, 80% of disabilities are acquired between the ages of 18 and 64, which are prime working years.

EY is a global signatory and iconic partner of the Valuable 500, a global business partnership of the world’s most influential businesses who are igniting systemic change by unlocking the business, social and economic value of people with disability everywhere.

In 2018, EY launched its first Accessibility and Inclusion Plan, marking a significant step towards creating an inclusive work environment.  This ongoing commitment is displayed in our current EY Accessibility & Inclusion Plan as we continue to drive change and accelerate progress in designing an inclusive environment for all. Our AIP is a collaborative effort, co-designed by our AIP project team and members of our Employee Network Group, Ability, and is built around three foundational anchors:

  • Shaping an inclusive employment journey for all EY people
  • Unlocking an accessible workplace for everyone to thrive
  • Advancing a neuro-inclusive, disability-confident workplace where everyone feels they belong

EY’s Neuro-Inclusion Strategy sets the roadmap for how EY in Oceania is advancing a neuro-inclusive workplace and we are proud that EY has joined the Australian Human Rights Commission’s Equality at Work Employer Network to pilot inclusive employment practices. Our ND Compass Pilot takes a holistic approach, offering resources ranging from peer mentoring to AI-powered navigation tools.

EY’s membership with the Australian Disability Network (AusDN) and PurpleSpace underscores our strong focus on disability inclusion. These partnerships connect us with a global network of organisations dedicated to fostering inclusive workplaces, enabling us to share best practices, explore innovative solutions, and champion greater equity for people with disability.

The EY Ability Network brings people together through four key communities—Neurodivergent Community Connect, Parents and Carers Community Connect, the Cancer Care Circle, and Chronic Health and Invisible Disability Community Connect, creating spaces where understanding, connection, and care thrive. Throughout the year, the network drives awareness and uplifts acceptance through a calendar of events that honour key initiatives, celebrate diverse experiences and amplify the call for an inclusive and accessible world for all.

In 2024, EY conducted its inaugural Workplace Accessibility and Inclusion survey, gathering feedback and insights to ensure the voices of lived experience inform the design of future initiatives and support mechanisms that promote accessibility and inclusion within the workplace.

Advancing Workplace Adjustments

At EY we are proud to have an inhouse Disability Inclusion & Workplace Adjustments Lead who is responsible for providing personalised workplace adjustments to enable people with disability or long-term health conditions to not only perform effectively in their roles but to thrive. At EY we take a person-centred approach to tailoring adjustments for a person, providing support throughout the process. Our intent is to provide a workplace that enables everyone to focus on their role, perform effectively and embrace their career.
