In September 2022, EY Leadership commissioned an independent and comprehensive review into its workplace culture in the Oceania region. The review, undertaken by independent experts Elizabeth Broderick & Co (EB&Co.), was a deep examination of workplace culture, work practices and psychological health and safety in Oceania’s two largest Member Firms, EY Australia and EY New Zealand.
More than 4,500 current and former EY employees across Australia and New Zealand participated in the review via an online survey, confidential one-on-one interviews, written submissions, and group listening sessions. This enabled EB&Co. to gather information to identify what is working well, areas for improvement and actions EY Leadership can take to continue to promote an inclusive and respectful workplace.
The Report included 27 recommendations to help make meaningful improvements to workplace culture and positively promote the wellbeing of EY people. EY Oceania accepted all the recommendations from the review which have been completed, closed, or embedded.
