Tori is the New Zealand Law Leader and has represented multinationals, high net wealth, New Zealand businesses and charities in their on-going disputes with various regulators (including IRD, Customs and ACC) which concern complex and novel issues. She has appeared and successfully advocated for her clients in the District Court, High Court and Customs Appeal Authority. Tori has led both the technical and strategic direction of these disputes, including leading settlement negotiations and correspondence with regulators where that is the desired outcome.

Tori has also lead projects that test employee’s contractual and minimum entitlements and employer obligations. Using market leading technology, she gives employers confidence that they have been compliant with their employer obligations, as well as identifying areas of risk, giving insights into the employment law related aspects of payroll and, where necessary, guiding employers through remediation.

Tori has a BCom/LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland and is recognized in both APAC Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners and listed in the ITR – Women in Tax Leaders. Tori was also nominated as one of the top Asia Tax Disputes and Litigation Practice Leaders of the year, the only nominee from New Zealand.

How Tori is building a better working world

"I give businesses the confidence to navigate uncertainty, not only by helping them understand the laws that impact them but arming them with the tools and processes to be agile in their response to a constantly evolving regulatory landscape. By empowering businesses to take a strategic approach to regulatory change, businesses can manage their business risk, rather than be managed by it, and also take full advantage of opportunities."
