Ömer is the Assurance Leader for the European Institutions.
He joined EY in 1999 and has 23 years of experience in the fields of statutory audits, financial audits and internal control audits in the private and public sector domain. Ömer has an extensive knowledge about EU programs and underlying rules, having led hundreds of project audits for the EU and other donor accounts.
He is an accredited inspector at the Belgian Audit Oversight Board for non-public interest entities.
Ömer holds an MSc in Commercial and Financial Sciences (Applied Economics) from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He is a member of the Institut des Réviseurs d’Entreprises. He attended the Harvard Leadership Program Group Leaders in 2014.
Ömer is based in Brussels and speaks English, Dutch, Turkish, German and French.
