Ernst & Young, Australia (“EY Australia”) today announces the creation of a new delivery centre in collaboration with the Victorian Government and Federation University which will be located in Ballarat, regional Victoria. The centre, which is expected to generate up to 200 new jobs in the Ballarat region over the next three years, will initially provide support to financial services clients who require Australia-based services to comply with data privacy and regulatory requirements.
Project Lead Daniel Wong, Partner, EY Australia, said, “EY Australia is expanding client servicing options with this new Ballarat-based delivery centre. We recognised this as an opportunity to invest in regional Australia, and the Ballarat Technology Park provides us with a great location, proximity to Federation University and access to a robust talent pool.
We hope to attract candidates and traineeships through our collaboration with Federation University, as well as the local community. Over the next three years, we hope to employ over 200 people from all walks of life in our local and surrounding communities. Roles will be entry level, with options available for term-time, part-time, school hours, or full-time employment. Our centre will provide a collaborative work environment, with all the benefits EY professionals receive.”
“We’re committed to providing traineeships and reskilling opportunities for anyone who wants to apply. Our focus is on creating accessible, flexible and inclusive employment opportunities for members of the community who may be starting their first job, retraining, returning to work, or looking for new challenges.
Successful applicants will have access to all of EY Australia’s ongoing formal and informal learning opportunities of the EY organisation including traineeships and the ‘EY MBA.’
The Victorian Government welcomed the move.
Treasurer and Minister for Economic Development, Tim Pallas said,
“Investments from prominent firms such as Ernst & Young shows that Victoria is well positioned to continue to attract desirable investments that will support the growth of our priority sectors and futureproof our economy.”
