V souvislosti s rostoucími cenami (nejen) energií nabývá na intenzitě diskuse ohledně sektorové daně.

Nedávno jsme vás informovali o diskusích, které vedou vládní strany ohledně možného zavedení speciální daně pro vybrané energetické firmy (blíže ZDE).

Nyní vám přinášíme aktuální výroky ministra financí Stanjury k tomuto tématu pro tisk (blíže ZDE). Ministr v tomto rozhovoru naznačuje následující:

  • spíše než o „sektorové dani“ by uvažoval o tzv. „windfall tax“, tj. zjednodušeně zdanění „mimořádných“ zisků vlivem změny vnějších okolností;
  • bude se vést debata o parametrech takové případné daně a odvětvích, na které by se mohla aplikovat;
  • pokud se najde shoda (což je v tuto chvíli nejasné), tak, aby se takové opatření dalo od počátku roku 2023 aplikovat, mělo by dle jeho názoru dojít k dohodě na tomto tématu přibližně do konce letních prázdnin.

Tuto oblast budeme nadále monitorovat.

    News on the sectoral tax

    In the context of rising energy prices (and not only), the debate on the sectoral tax is gaining momentum.

    We recently informed you about the discussions being held by the government parties regarding the possible introduction of a special tax for selected energy companies (more details HERE).

    Now we bring you the latest remarks by Finance Minister Stanjura to the press on this topic (more details HERE). In this interview, the Minister indicates the following:

    • rather than a "sectoral tax", he would consider a "windfall tax", i.e. simply put - taxing "extraordinary" profits due to a change in external circumstances;
    • there will be a debate on the parameters of such a possible tax and the sectors to which it could be applied;
    • if a consensus can be found (which is unclear at the moment), so that such a measure can be applied from the beginning of 2023, in his view, an agreement on this topic should be reached by around the end of the summer recess.

    We will continue to monitor this area.
