  • Anna Maria Blengino, CIO at Sunrise, wins the Confare Swiss CIOAWARD 2025.
  • Recognized as Top CIOs of the Year are: Raymond Schnidrig, Partner and CTO at Partners Group; Benedikt Schmid, CIO and Data Officer at MS Reinsurance; and Matthias Bryner, CIO of University Children’s Hospital Zurich.

Zurich, 11 September 2025 – On September 10, 2025, Confare Managing Directors Barbara Klinka-Ghezzo and Michael Ghezzo, as well as Jan Leitermann, chairman of the panel of judges and Head of Technology Consulting Switzerland at the auditing and consulting firm EY Switzerland, presented the awards.

Anna Maria Blengino, CIO of Sunrise, has been named IT Manager of the Year 2025. “You are not always in a position to fully focus on innovation. In many cases, the corresponding foundations have to be laid first because the history of a company can vary significantly. This is true of Anna Maria Blengino, who, as an outstanding CIO, has consistently advanced the modernization of her process, system and data landscape and can now drive forward innovation with maximum efficiency,” said Jan Leitermann. In the words of the panel of judges: “Anna Maria Blengino shows how IT creates strategic added value – not as a support function, but as an engine for innovation and transformation. With a clear road map from the UPC integration to the LG spin-off and a focus on customer orientation, she is positioning IT as a driver of growth for Sunrise. This impressive journey and her leadership have been instrumental in her winning the Confare Swiss CIOAWARD 2025.”

In addition, the following participants were recognized as Top CIOs of the Year: Raymond Schnidrig, Partner and CTO at Partners Group; Benedikt Schmid, CIO and Data Officer at MS Reinsurance; and Matthias Bryner, CIO of University Children’s Hospital Zurich. Leitermann said: “This year, we once again received numerous outstanding applications for the Confare Swiss CIOAWARD. Digital technologies have always been at the center of public interest even before the latest developments in the field of AI, but we are making the people behind these innovations in our companies visible.”
