Zurich, 10 September 2026 – On September 9, 2026, the Confare Swiss CIOAWARD and the awards for the Top CIOs of 2026 were presented at the Confare CIOSUMMIT in Zurich. The program is run by Confare in collaboration with the auditing and consulting firm EY Switzerland. The awards were presented by Confare Managing Directors Barbara Klinka-Ghezzo and Michael Ghezzo, as well as Michael Achi, chairman of the panel of judges and Partner and Markets Leader Consulting Switzerland at EY.

Confare Swiss CIOAWARD 2026

Jason Goddard, Global Head of IT at Galderma, has been named best CIO of 2026 and is thus the winner of the Confare Swiss CIOAWARD 2026. Michael Achi said: “Jason Goddard impressively demonstrates how technology is now becoming a strategic success factor for a company far beyond traditional IT. He won over the judges with his clear vision, consistent implementation skills and focus on measurable added value.”

Explaining the reasons for their decision, the judges said: “Jason Goddard successfully brings together the long-term development of an organization and the reliable operation of a complex global IT organization. Particular recognition was given to his disciplined implementation, responsible build-up of AI capabilities and consistent alignment of the technology agenda with Galderma’s growth targets.”

Confare Top CIOs of the Year

In addition, the following participants were recognized as Confare TopCIOs of the Year: Dr. Lea Sonderegger, CDO, CIO and member of the Executive Committee at Swarovski; Linda de Winter, CIO and member of the Executive Board at Swisscard AECS; and Marc Besson, CIO/CDIO at IMAD. In the anniversary year of the Confare Swiss CIOAWARD, the independent panel of judges is thereby honoring four leaders who closely link technology with business development, customer experience and socially relevant services.

“Expectations of CIOs have never been as high as they are now. They need to enable innovation, drive forward the responsible use of AI and manage cyber risks while at the same time ensuring that business operations remain stable. This year’s award winners impressively demonstrate how technology is becoming a real driver of growth, competitiveness and sustainable corporate success,” said Michael Achi.
