Scaling up Europe: a governance agenda for growth
Organised by EY and in partnership with ACCA, Accountancy Europe, BusinessEurope, Chartered Accountants Ireland, ecoDa, Euronext, and Ibec, the European Corporate Governance Conference 2026 will convene policymakers, academics, practitioners, civil society, and industry leaders. Held under the auspices of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU Associated Events initiative, the conference will provide a forum for discussing significant corporate governance developments shaping Europe.
This year’s conference will explore how corporate governance frameworks must evolve to address rapid technological advancements and embed resilience as a core element of their strategy. It will also explore the potential implications of recent initiatives, such as the Savings & Investment Union and “EU Inc.”, on boardroom discussions and Europe’s competitiveness.
Key questions to be addressed include: How can boards effectively oversee technological developments like artificial intelligence and quantum computing while safeguarding long-term value and market confidence? How can they better navigate an increasingly complex environment marked by geopolitical fragmentation, climate pressures, and technological disruption? How can Europe create the conditions needed to better scale its innovators? These and other issues will shape the discussions at the European Corporate Governance Conference 2026.
