Cathal provides audit and assurance services to Irish public limited companies and large private businesses across different market sectors, with over 20 years of experience.
His primary sectors of focus include food and agribusiness, DIY retailing, pharma outsourcing and distribution, oil and gas exploration as well as property management and development.
Having worked on several transition projects, Cathal enjoys collaborating with companies to resolve complex accounting issues.
Prior to joining EY, he worked with another Big Four firm as Audit Principal.
Cathal is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a master’s degree in Accounting from University College Dublin, Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
How Cathal is building a better working world
In his role, Cathal supports public limited companies with their capital market activities and provides transaction support assistance to private Irish business clients. He also acts as a consultant on best practices in the areas of corporate governance and internal controls. With a focus on the coordination and execution of complex audit and assurance engagements, Cathal leads multi-jurisdictional and cross-service line teams.
