C
hanelle Keble runs her own online fashion business which has a following of over 5000 customers across Africa. While styling the continent, she fills her week days as a talent manager at EY Africa.

EY: Tell us more about your business in fashion and your role at EY.

Chanelle: Its simple, in the week I get to be the unofficial lawyer, psychologist, event planner, peacemaker, teacher, career planner and detective, and on the weekends I have the opportunity to model clothing aligned to all those roles. I was nominated to be a facilitator at the New Manager Programme in Amsterdam. Despite the challenging environment that COVID brought in 2020, our service line has shown growth in both revenue and headcount, which in itself is such an achievement and which I am proud to be a part of.

My EY career started in 2006, before the establishment of ‘Glamourized by Chanelle’ – MY EY role taught me so much about customer care and exceptional client service, which I was then able to embed in my own business years later. Also, I love the correlation that can be drawn from the two roles - both roles allow me to sell and market the brand. I get to market the EY brand in the week, and on weekends and in my spare time, I get to sell and market my Glamourized brand, BOTH of which I am exceptionally proud of!

I believe that both roles allow me a platform to influence, share and shine in the lives of others; the same customer care, service and dedication that I bring to my EY colleagues, is the same care, service and dedication that is extended to my Glamourized customers.

And my faith is my greatest encourager and it has taught me two things (amongst so many others). Firstly, that I am called to serve others and secondly, to do everything as unto God which allows me to pursue a spirit of excellence in everything that I do. My heart for the plight of others is enabled by both roles and allows me to bless others, which for me is the most rewarding thing.

Advice to my younger self: “Faith over fear; be relentless in the pursuit of that which sets my soul on fire!”
