On December 1, 2023, a 20% increase in minimum wages was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, and the National Minimum Wage Commission (CONASAMI) published in Bulletin 13/2023, the minimum wages effective as of January 1, 2024.
- The general minimum wage will increase from 207.44 to 248.93 pesos per day, while in the Northern Border Free Zone it will increase from 312.41 to 374.89 pesos per day.
- Professional minimum wages will have a 20% increase.
The increase in the minimum wage was unanimously approved by the directors of CONASAMI, resulting in the amount of 7,508 pesos per month.
It is noted that during the current administration, the minimum wage has registered the following increases: in 2019 an increase of 16.2 percent was achieved; for 2020 it reached 20 percent; in 2021 it was 15 percent; in 2022 it was 22 percent and in 2023 the increase was 20 percent.
In 2019 the minimum wage was 88 pesos per day and by 2024, the last year of the current administration, it will rise to 248.93 pesos per day.
