What is Immigration?

The Global Immigration team is part of the international network of People Advisory Services professionals. We help businesses and individuals navigate the complex world of immigration with confidence and care.

We support clients with:

  • Strategic advice: We guide businesses and individuals on immigration matters, including working with government authorities to help resolve challenges. We run sessions to help companies stay compliant and plan global mobility strategies.
  • Risk and compliance: We help companies understand and manage immigration risks for their employees and business travellers. Immigration laws and policies change often, so we need to stay up to date so our clients can stay ahead.
  • Sponsorship support: We assist businesses in sponsoring overseas talent, including preparing and submitting visa applications.
  • Integrated services: We work closely with our Mobility Tax colleagues to offer a complete solution for moving talent into and out of Australia and New Zealand.

Your career journey in Immigration

As a graduate, you’ll be part of our 12-month graduate development program that has been developed for graduates in all service lines, and is focused on connection, learning and celebration.

The program will provide you with the opportunity to network with your peers from other service lines and geographies. Running in parallel to your technical learning, you will develop leadership skills to become a successful graduate, and as you grow as a transformative leader.

As an Immigration graduate, you’ll take part in:-

  • Take part in monthly technical immigration training sessions and learning opportunities across other service lines
  • Attend weekly team catch-ups to share client stories, celebrate wins and learn from challenges
  • Work directly with clients every day, attend meetings, and help prepare alerts and submissions to the Department of Home Affairs
  • Receive ongoing coaching to build both your technical and professional skills
  • Work on integrated client accounts and gain exposure to areas like global mobility tax, employment tax, and assignment services

As a vacationer, after our company induction, you’ll start developing an understanding of how our Immigration teams work and will be ready to work alongside teams on real client projects. You’ll meet other new vacationers from your office.

Your buddy and your counsellor will help you learn your way around the organisation, set your goals and plan your development while you’re here. You'll be well looked after with ongoing learning throughout the Vacationer Program with sessions facilitated by our Learning and Development team, Campus Recruitment team and service line specific training.
