As Chief Ethics Officer, Darrell collaborates closely with the Canadian Executive Committee and our teams to reinforce and champion our values — and the initiatives that support them. He oversees strategic planning for our ethics programs and operations to drive a culture that strives for the highest standards of conduct in all that we do.
Previously, Darrell supported the firm as EY Canada Managing Partner, Risk Management, from 2016-2024. In this role, he led the Canadian risk management team, which advises the firm and its professionals on a variety of regulatory, independence, client and engagement acceptance, and other risk matters.
From 2010 to 2015, Darrell was a member of our Assurance Professional Practice group, where he was responsible for overseeing the firm’s audit quality monitoring program, and consulting on complex auditing matters. Darrell has served a variety of public and private audit clients across industries while working in our Halifax, Edmonton and Toronto offices.
Darrell was the Chair of the Canadian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board from 2016 to 2018, and is an Ontario FCPA, FCA. He is an active sponsor of EY’s Unity group, which focuses on LGBT+ initiatives within and outside of EY.
