year-end review

Reflections on 2025

The past year has been shaped by geopolitical events and new challenges for Switzerland as a business location. For many Swiss CEOs, geopolitical uncertainty is now the greatest risk, and the significant increase in US tariffs on Swiss imports has taken many Swiss companies by surprise. The situation has improved with the new Swiss-US tariff agreement. Nevertheless, the attractiveness of the business location remains at risk. It is crucial that companies act quickly and find tailor-made solutions in these uncertain times.

Acting together with confidence

Last year, we unveiled a new global strategy with “All in”. The core motto of our strategy is “Shaping the future with confidence”. In these uncertain times, we want to play a proactive role in shaping the future and promote innovation. We want our customers to feel this confidence so that we can make the right decisions together to strengthen our economy and society. To this end, we have launched the “Navigating uncertainties” initiative and platform to work together to find the right approaches and solutions. We will be operating in collaboration with our global network, as the geopolitical, primarily global challenges can only be solved by working together in a holistic manner.

In addition to geopolitics, artificial intelligence will continue to take up a lot of our time, and we are well prepared for this. Since the launch of “All in,” we have invested more than CHF 800 million per year in this area in Switzerland and around the world to support our customers and get our employees ready for the future.

Doing good in difficult times

Responsibility and trust are essential values for EY, as confirmed by our recently published Sustainability Report. We were also awarded the EcoVadis platinum medal for the first time in the area of sustainability. This makes us one of the best-rated companies in Switzerland in the auditing and consulting industry.

We continue to invest heavily in the qualification and further training of our employees. This year alone, more than 207,000 hours were invested in training at EY Switzerland. And we are continuing to strengthen our commitment to inclusiveness in order to promote diversity and equal opportunities. For example, the proportion of women on the Executive Board and the Board of Directors is 30%. We want to maintain this good figure and increase it further over the next few years.

It is precisely at a time when the world is characterized by uncertainty that hope, unity and mutual support are invaluable. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners, staff and customers for trusting and working together successfully with us in 2025. I firmly believe that 2026 will be a year full of opportunities.

I wish you a peaceful festive season with your family and friends and a successful 2026.
