On 8 February 2024, the Finnish government announced that all crossing points on the land border between Finland and Russia will remain closed until 14 April 2024. The Finnish government recently announced that the closure of crossing points has been extended until 14 April 2024. Those who seek to apply for international protection at Finland’s external borders may do so at airports and seaports. The Ministry of the Interior is examining other means to prevent threats to national security or public order.
