South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs (DHA) recently extended certain relaxations for eligible individuals whose Long-Term Visa, waiver or appeal applications were pending adjudication as of 30 November 2023 until 30 June 2024. The DHA has now further extended the aforementioned deadline until 30 June 2024 for individuals who filed a Long-Term Visa, waiver or appeal application on or before 30 November 2023 and did not receive a decision as of that date. Impacted individuals who do not require a visa to enter South Africa may exit and re-enter the country on or before 30 June 2024 without facing penalties. Those who require a visa must apply for a Visitor Visa before re-entering South Africa.
