On 18 December 2023, the UAE's Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced the introduction of a new Private Teacher Work Permit that enables qualified professionals to provide private lessons to students. The new permit aims to regulate the private tutoring sector and provide guidelines for private lessons conducted outside educational institutions. Khalil Al Khoori, Undersecretary for Human Resources Affairs at the MoHRE, added that the permit also aims to encourage new and emerging specializations and professions to be practiced within an organized legal framework.
