Christos has over 20 years of experience in leadership positions, across varied roles and environments, in academia, government and public sector (GPS) as well as in consulting, leading a large number of GPS projects concerning optimization and AI, mathematical programming, business analytics, ICT systems, business process re-engineering, and business transformation.
As the Government and Public Sector Leader at EY in Greece, Christos plays a pivotal role in navigating funding, across all Service Lines, understanding and identifying market needs, designing and introducing innovative products and services.
Christos is also a Management Science and Technology professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He has been included for six consecutive years within Stanford University’s annual list of the world's top 2% most influential scientists in the fields of operations research and artificial intelligence. In addition, having a very successful teaching record at all levels, from undergraduates to business executives MBA students at AUEB, Christos was awarded the best teaching award for more than 30 times in total. He was also elected Head of the Department of Management Science and Technology at AUEB.
Christos was an elected Member of the Hellenic Parliament (2019-2023) and served the Hellenic Parliament's Committees related to research, innovation and technology, development and investments, environment and energy, rural development and food, infrastructure and transport, tourism, shipping and island policy, as well as educational affairs. Furthermore, he was elected for three consecutive times (2021-2023) as the Chairperson of the Hellenic Parliament’s Committee on Research and Technology (2021-2023), appointed as Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and Government Spokesperson (2021) and as the Vice President of the Greek - United States Parliamentary Friendship Group (2021-2023).
How is Christos building a better working world?
Christos is working to further enable the government and the public sector to embrace technology and sustainability, to develop skills and capacities within public organizations, to foster collaboration between private sector and GPS entities, and to pursue innovation at scale. This will ultimately lead to organizational effectiveness, resilience and successful GPS transformation as well as creating high added value for the economy and society.
