EY Alumni Connect December 2022

By Marcus Gageby

Welcome to the latest edition of the EY Alumni Connect.

As we come to the end of 2022, I would like to start by wishing you and your families a Happy Christmas and New Year.

At EY, we have had an exciting year with 27 new equity partners joining the firm, the launch of our AI Labs and announcement of 900 new jobs in the next 12 months to support our continued growth and record revenue generation. We released EY Ireland's first Societal Impact report, you can read more about that below. Finally, in this edition of the EY Alumni Connect, I am delighted to feature 2018 alum, Karl Byrne. A near lifelong interest in sustainability has led Karl to his current role as VP of Climate Infrastructure at BlackRock Real Assets. You can read his full interview below.

As EY partner sponsor of our Alumni community, I’m interested in hearing your feedback on this initiative, on the topics you’d like us to cover and whether you would like to feature in our interview section. Please get in touch here.

Alumni Spotlight Interview

EY 2018 alumnus Karl Byrne talks about how “Ten Technologies to Save the Planet” changed his perspective on life and led him to his current position as VP of Climate Infrastructure at BlackRock Real Assets. Read Karl’s interview below.

Societal Impact Report 2022: Society, Prosperity and Planet

EY Ireland's first Societal Impact Report tells the story of how our purpose of building a better working world is being realised across the island of Ireland.

Key highlights include;

  • Six graduates from Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities now employed at EY
  • Twenty-three participants in EY Refugee Access Programme now employed at EY
  • In FY22, €340k raised for charity, including €35k for our charity partner Irish Cancer Society
  • Investing in social equity - 80% of our people completed inclusive leadership training last year.

As we continue to build on translating our purpose to action, we hope that EY's purpose has made an impact on the way that you work.
