We talked to Cecilia Rochford, an EY alumnus in both Canada and Ireland, who is now VP, HR Programme Manager Europe & Middle East with Barclays. Cecilia told us about how the EY experience has shaped her life and career.

"My greatest learning from this (EY) is that we build diverse teams. We want people who challenge the status quo, who were not afraid to ask questions. Diversity is a positive thing, and having four people sitting at the table whom all think the same thing isn't good for us."

"Definitely stakeholder management is probably critical. I'm a program manager and have been for a number of years, and I think as you get more senior in your roles you need to understand whom you're working with, who you're working for and that's at all levels and that I think was one of the critical things that I'd learned at EY. " says on the critical skills learned in EY

Cecilia also talks about how EY is about building relationships and out of building relationships; it's understanding who you're working with and the importance of stakeholder management, but ultimately it's about creating a network and building trust.

Summary

A career at EY will help you build a network and the skills to shape your future.
