Dublin, 01 September 2023: Technology Ireland, the Ibec group that represents the technology sector, today launched the 31st Annual Technology Ireland Industry Awards. In an era defined by unprecedented technological advancements, the Awards stand as a testament to the pivotal role technology plays in shaping the future. They also serve as a platform to recognise those driving this progress, fostering collaboration to promote further growth and innovation.
Commenting on the launch of the Awards, Director of Technology Ireland, Una Fitzpatrick, said: “These Awards recognise and celebrate companies that have developed innovative technologies and advancements across 11 award categories and are instrumental in ensuring the success of the sector is acknowledged and further promoted.
The recent challenges facing tech employers and employees in Ireland has undoubtedly posed a significant challenge and has created difficulties and uncertainty for many. Bearing these challenges in mind, the technology sector has a proven track record of resilience and adaptability in times of uncertainty and strain, which has been demonstrated over the past few years.
Ireland’s position as a global tech-hub means that we have a greater responsibility to ensure those working in the industry receive the recognition and support required to rebuild, grow, and prosper. These Awards offer a significant opportunity to express appreciation for those paving the way.”
Platinum sponsor EY Ireland will sponsor the prestigious Technology Company of the Year Award. Marie Treacy, Technology Sector Leader and Partner with EY Ireland commented: “EY Ireland is really proud to once again partner with Technology Ireland and to sponsor the Digital Technology Company of the Year Award. These awards are not just an opportunity to celebrate a brilliant cohort of leaders in the technology sector at the forefront of technology, innovation and thinking, but also serve as a global showcase, highlighting Ireland as a vibrant and dynamic global hub for technology and innovation.
Digital transformation is now central to the operation of organisations large and small, and it is innovative and agile companies that will continue to power this transformation and shape the future. Moreover, the potential of AI to positively impact organisations and society means that now is a more exciting time than ever and ensuring this potential is harnessed successfully, ethically and for the benefit of all will be key.”
