A Tax Partner and the Head of Private Client Services at EY Ireland, John advises family-owned businesses and high-net-worth individuals on a range of tax planning issues.

With extensive experience in all aspects of tax planning, he supports entrepreneurs on the tax issues facing their businesses and themselves, and international groups on their tax strategies.

Over the years, John harnessed knowledge on Irish and foreign real estate transactions and succession planning for family businesses.

Prior to joining EY, he worked as Tax Director at another Big Four firm.

A Fellow of the Tax Institute of Ireland, John has written and lectured extensively in Ireland and abroad on a range of tax issues. He was awarded the Norma Bale prize for “Best Article of the Year” by the Irish Tax Institute in 2010 for his headline article on the tax depreciation rules for investment in intangible assets.
