EY today announced the selection of the Global Chair and CEO for the two proposed organizations post-transaction. Julie Boland will serve as the Global Chair and CEO of “AssureCo” and Carmine Di Sibio will serve as the Global Chair and CEO of “NewCo”. Both leaders have the ability and insight to lead through this transformation period and towards an exciting future for both organizations. These roles will be effective from the date of the separation.

The selection of these two leaders is a significant milestone in the separation process. We are moving forward in a thoughtful and deliberate manner, making good progress on the path to partner votes early next year.

We firmly believe that this bold move to separate the organization will enable us to embrace the changing landscape, build businesses that redefine the future of our professions, create exciting new opportunities, and deliver greater long-term value for EY people, clients and communities.

Julie was elected US Chair and Managing Partner and Americas Area Managing Partner in February 2022 and began serving in July 2022. The Americas is now a US$20b+ revenue organization with 97,000 people. From 2018 to 2022, she served as US-Central Region Vice Chair, and she has also served as a Senior Advisory Partner on several of the US largest accounts.

Julie is a purpose-driven leader who has developed strong C-suite relationships and is a passionate client advocate. She is committed to helping EY people to grow and develop in their careers, all while advancing our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusiveness and fostering a culture of belonging. In the market, Julie is known for emphasizing the importance of audit quality and integrity as a priority for EY teams.

Before joining EY, Julie worked for two global investment banks, leading up to her CFO roles at publicly and privately held companies. She started her career as an auditor at a Big Four and is a Certified Public Accountant. Throughout her career, she has lived and worked in New York, Chicago, Cleveland and London.

Carmine has served as the Global Chair and CEO of EY since 2019. Prior to being elected to his current post, Carmine served as EY Global Managing Partner – Client Service, leading the execution of the organization’s global strategy and its geographical areas and four service lines.

Since taking on the role as Global Chair and CEO, Carmine has led the firm to record growth and successfully navigated the organization through the global pandemic. He also established EY as a leader in sustainability, including the industry first net zero commitment and developed a clear ambition to make long term value creation a key strategy driver.

Carmine has held several global operating and leadership positions at EY, using his extensive experience in financial services. His global experience has equipped him with a keen understanding of cultures and clients worldwide, and he is a strong advocate for the power of EY’s global organization. Carmine co-chairs the EY Global Diversity and Inclusiveness Steering Committee, which works to maximize the power of different opinions, perspectives, and cultural references within the organization.

Early in his career at EY, Carmine served as an Advisory and Assurance partner for many of EY’s largest financial services accounts. He previously served as Chair of the Global Financial Services Markets Executive and Regional Managing Partner for the Americas Financial Services Organization (FSO), where he started EY Risk Management and Regulatory Services, which is now a multibillion-dollar global practice. He has a foundation in audit and is a practicing Certified Public Accountant.
