EY PNG has announced today that effective 1 March 2021, Madhu Nair will step down as Managing Partner - EY Papua New Guinea. We are pleased to announce that Matthew Savage based in our Port Moresby office will be appointed to the role.
Mr Nair was one of the founding partners at EY PNG and was instrumental in growing the practice to be a leading professional services provider in PNG. Since setting up the office in Port Moresby in 2012, there are now over 40 professionals in Port Moresby.
Mr Nair said, “I am grateful to our people for providing me with this sense of belonging to PNG that will stay with me forever. I am proud of the immense contribution our people make towards high quality services we provide to our esteemed clients. I commend the resilience of our team supporting each other in facing the challenges posed by COVID-19. The campus recruitment and active local recruitment programs have been successful in identifying and promoting future leaders. Watching our team grow and develop has been one of the great highlights of my career with EY.”

Mr Savage said, “It is a great honour to be taking over the reins from Madhu. He helped build the firm and his passion, professionalism and dedication have placed us on solid ground to continue on our growth trajectory. It is a testament to the trust that is placed upon us by our clients that we serve a wide range of sectors. Our clients are household names in PNG and internationally.”
Mr Savage has been with EY for 20 years and in PNG since 2018, leading the firm’s Assurance practice and is well known and trusted in the local market.
