Inclusiveness is key and we work towards this in several ways, including:

  • Gender-focused networks and communities, such as the EY Gender Network, Women in Technology, Menopause Community, and Parents & Carers community.
  • The inclusive environment at EY includes support for gender affirmation, all-gender bathrooms, gender pay parity efforts, and comprehensive diversity training.
  • EY's comprehensive return-to-work program, Rediscover, supports all employees returning from family leave, while leadership development initiatives like Future Thinking Women series, Women. Fast Forward, Accelerate mentoring and sponsorship program and the Women Athlete’s Business Network aim to advance gender equity.
  • EY joined the Champions of Change Coalition in 2016. The Champions of Change Coalition is a globally recognised, innovative strategy for achieving gender equality, advancing more and diverse women in leadership, and building respectful and inclusive workplaces.
  • Our Domestic and Family Violence Policy provides up to 15 days of paid leave per year, access to counselling through the Employee Assistance Program, and tailored workplace adjustments to support safety and wellbeing. We also have over 100 Welfare Contact Officers across Oceania to provide confidential support and guidance, as well as EY Respect – a community providing confidential support for those affected by domestic and family violence.

Commitment to Closing the Gender Pay Gap:

EY has implemented a variety of strategies to address the gender pay gap, including a comprehensive suite of training and development opportunities, embedded analytics in our performance and remuneration processes, transparency reporting via Value Realised Score Card, gender and cultural diversity targets including 40% women in partnership by 2027, as well as policies and procedures to support equitable outcomes and a safe working environment for all. We are also dedicated to investing in people of all genders to achieve balanced and equitable representation in leadership.

Importantly, my understanding of gender equality has evolved. Today, to me, equality means fairness and respect for all genders – not just for women. True inclusion means recognising and supporting the rights, identities, and experiences of everyone, regardless of how they identify. It’s about building a culture where every individual feels seen, heard, and valued.
