Australian Privacy Statement Supplement

Introduction

This statement sets out the Privacy Policy of Ernst & Young, Australia (EY Australia) (ABN 75 288 172 749) and its related entities (“EY”, “we”, “us”) operating within Australia and the practices that we will follow to respect the privacy of individuals who deal with us (“you”). This statement is intended to act as an addendum to the global EY Privacy Statement and as such, only deals with additional local requirements.

This statement is provided in Australia in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), which are set out in the Act.

Subject to applicable law (including exemptions for employee records), you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • To access the personal data1 held by the EY organisation about you.
  • To have your personal data corrected, for example, if it is incomplete or incorrect.
  • To opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time.
  • To restrict or object to the processing of personal data or request the erasure of personal data (in certain circumstances and subject to applicable law).
  • To receive a copy of the personal data which you have provided to the EY organisation.
  • Where you have provided personal data voluntarily, or otherwise consented to its use, the right to withdraw your consent.
  • The right to complain to a data protection authority.
  • EY Australia applies its Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs) to protect personal information shared within the global EY network. More information is available on the EY BCRs webpage.
