Martin is a commercial leader and advisor to multiple technology and life sciences companies, and has a strong track record of building purpose-led global technology businesses with a difference.
He is the Founder and former CEO of CMR Surgical, a pioneer in surgical robotics, with its initial product, Versius, installed in multiple European countries, UK and India. Martin won the Disruptor Award in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2019 UK Awards.
Since stepping down from the board of CMR in December 2020, Martin has engaged in starting and scaling-up companies within the spectrum of fast-charge batteries, electric motors, digital pathology, sensors and medical devices. He was awarded a CBE in the 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours for Services to Robotics and British Industry.
