Paolo Pieri

Beginning his career as a PWC accountant in Glasgow, Paolo moved to the Silicon Valley in the late 90s to work on some of the early .com IPOs. He then returned to the UK to work for Virgin Group, becoming CFO for Virgin Megastores and then moving to lastminute.com as their CFO.  

After 5 years at lastminute.com, Paolo joined Circle Health Group, a UK private hospital provider as CFO in 2010. Originally the business focused on new-build hospitals in the UK, with a heavy NHS emphasis and they listed on the AIM market in 2011.

Since Paolo became CEO in 2016, he delisted the business from AIM to focus on scaling the business.  It was the first European hospital group to launch open healthcare facilities in China. In the UK, it has brought technology and pathway solutions to over 1m people on behalf of the NHS, helping to better manage their musculoskeletal health.  In 2019, the group also acquired the number 1 UK hospital operator in the UK in December 2019, increasing their revenues by approximately 800%. 

Today Circle Health Group is the largest UK Private Hospital provider with over 50 hospitals and approximately 2,500 beds.
