Following time spent with BT, Telewest and NTL, Steven formed Light Source in November 2000, with an ethos that telecommunications networks need to be easy to build, manage and maintain, provide the ultimate bandwidth for the end user and deliver significant reductions in operating expenditure for clients. Light Source has become one of the UK’s leading telecommunications network delivery partners, specialising in the delivery of robust, cost effective design and build solutions in the Telecommunications industry.   

With a recognised track record of having successfully directed, developed, and matured Light Source during evolving economic phases, Steven has a focus on risk, corporate governance and culture, and believes that if Light Source gets these three elements right, then they will grow further.   

He continually encourages his team to differentiate how they deploy in a competitive market, and to meet the challenges of working with special engineering difficulties, where standard telecommunication methods of build practices are not practical.  With a focus on innovation, Light Source are pioneers of exploring advanced ways of working, such as developing augmented reality glasses for site surveys and inspections and developing a pneumatic rocket launcher to fire cable lines in restricted areas.
