EY has announced the appointment of Amber Mace as the UK & Ireland Market Segment Leader for its Consumer Products & Retail sector.

In her new role, Amber will lead a multi-disciplinary team of over 1,000 EY professionals, which is expanding at pace, to help meet demand from businesses in the sector that are navigating prominent challenges in the market, including supply chain disruption. She takes on the new role with immediate effect.

Amber was previously the Tax Market Segment Leader for Consumer Products & Retail, advising some of the UK’s most well-known consumer brands for over 25 years on post deal integration, group financing, and UK inward investment transactions and international tax - including M&A and internal global restructuring transactions.

Amber Mace, EY UK&I Market Segment Leader for Consumer Products & Retail commented: “The Consumer Products & Retail sector is facing numerous disruptive forces, including inflationary cost pressures, trade and transport challenges, and the need to have an agile, resilient and digitally connected supply chain, to respond to a consumer that is more demanding than ever of value, with an increased desire for strong green credentials.

“I am very proud to be taking over the leadership of this sector, building on the momentum we have already created. We have a growing, multi-disciplinary team that is helping businesses in the sector to address this myriad of challenges they are facing, while supporting them to achieve their purpose for all their stakeholders.”

Alison Kay, Managing Partner for Client Service at EY, UK & Ireland commented: “Amber brings a wealth of experience to a sector which is undergoing structural change and facing significant headwinds.

“Many organisations are finding it difficult to drive their growth agenda whilst expanding their margins and, at the same time, contending with competition from non-traditional players. That is why it is so important that we have a sector team, led by Amber, dedicated to solving our clients’ most pressing challenges, with deep insight and tailored capability.”
