Before you begin, have the following documents ready:

  • Passport or birth certificate
  • CV
  • Latest academic transcript

How to stand out

  • Be considered in your application. Think about why you’re applying, the skills you bring, and how best to communicate that.
  • Tailor your application and the specific team or service line you’re applying for. Avoid copying generic responses from other organisations.
  • Be authentic. Let your personality and motivations come through. It’s fine to use tools like artificial intelligence (AI) to review your CV or responses but avoid relying on them to write your application.

After submitting your application, you may be invited to complete an online assessment.

This immersive experience presents realistic scenarios for candidates to work through, using a variety of response formats such as multiple choice, rank order, sliders and video. The simulation assesses cognitive and behavioural strengths; it evaluates your motivation and the team you have applied for and helps us understand your strengths and potential fit for the role.

Timing

The assessment has no time limit, but we recommend completing it in one sitting. It typically takes around 45 - 60 minutes.

Assessment format

It includes multiple-choice questions, slider questions and a video response.

Before you begin

To ensure a smooth experience, please:

  • Use the latest version of Google Chrome
  • Check that your webcam and microphone are working
  • Connect to high-speed internet for optimal video quality
  • Sit in a well-lit space with a plain background

After the assessment

You’ll receive personalised feedback on your strengths and suggestions for improvement.

Online assessment preparation hub

Visit the Assessment Preparation Hub for guidance and technical support to help you prepare for your online assessment. The hub is designed to help you feel confident and comfortable in your approach, with access to a range of practice assessments that reflect real scenarios

We will review your assessment and application, and you might be invited to attend a recruitment day or an interview. This is your opportunity to bring your application to life and show us more about who you are, how you think and how you work with others.

What to expect at a Recruitment Day

Recruitment days and interviews may be held face to face, online or in a hybrid format. We’ll let you know what to expect when you receive your invitation.

Interview

We understand that interviews can feel a little nerve-wracking, but we’ll do our best to help you feel comfortable and confident. You’ll meet with one or two EY team members for a conversation that typically lasts between 45 and 60 minutes. During the interview, we’ll ask behavioural and motivational questions to better understand your experiences, values, and aspirations. We’re keen to learn how you approach challenges, collaborate with others, and what inspires you to join us. It’s a chance for us to get to know you - and for you to get to know us.

Group Activity

You’ll also take part in a group activity with two to four other students. You’ll be presented with a fictional case study inspired by real-life scenarios. There is no single correct answer. Instead, we’re interested in how your group collaborates, communicates and works together to explore the problem and reach a conclusion.

Networking

During the Recruitment Day, you might have the chance to connect with EY team members, from recent graduates to senior leaders. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about life here. Our people enjoy sharing their experiences and offering guidance, so come prepared to chat and make the most of the conversation.

If you're attending in person, you might also get a tour of the office. For a sneak peek at our spaces and culture, check out our social media channels for behind-the-scenes insights here www.instagram.com/ey_australia

If you're a great fit for our business, you’ll receive an offer to shape your career with us. This is the beginning of your journey with us, and we’re excited to welcome you.

If you accept your offer, you’ll also be invited to join our Keep in Touch program. This program helps you stay connected with us and meet other future team members. You’ll have opportunities to connect with current EY professionals and fellow future joiners, and get a head start on what to expect before you officially join.
