As a partner within EY Financial Services, Katrien leads our Actuarial Services practice in Belgium. Katrien also delivers a broader scope of services to our clients, beyond the purely actuarial domain, such as the implementation of new accounting standards (IFRS 17, IFRS 9).
Prior to joining EY in 2009, Katrien worked for 10 years in the insurance sector for 2 leading Belgian insurance companies. During this period she took up several roles in risk, finance and product development. Throughout her career, IFRS has been a common theme with experience ranging from first-time adoption to assisting clients in their journey towards IFRS 17 compliance.
Katrien holds a master’s degree in Applied Economics and a master’s degree in Actuarial Sciences from the KU Leuven. She is an IA|BE qualified actuary.
How Katrien is building a better working world
I am convinced of the importance of truly partnering with our clients to build a better working world: sharing relevant insights from our global insurance network and working side by side with them to respond to the challenges they face - be it a temporary staff shortage, responding to the regulatory tsunami or staying relevant and competitive in the rapidly changing world.
I also believe in the strength of connecting clients, offering them a platform to exchange ideas and share experiences.
And finally, investing in the learning, development and well-being of our EY people is crucial to assist our clients in the best possible way.
