David Canning-Jones

David has worked in the EY organisation since 1999. In 2005, he became an equity partner in Audit, which has seen him work with numerous business leaders, board members and regulators. He has led some of the UK firm’s largest and most complex global audits. 

David has worked across our service lines and with teams across the EY global network. He has significant cross-sector experience, having led the global audits of Banking & Capital Markets, Energy, Technology and Private Equity firms. 

David is Chair of the Banking Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and sits on the Financial Services Faculty Board. He previously served on the Council of ICAEW and chaired its Audit Committee. In July 2025, he was elected to the EY UK LLP Board.
