Putting veterans at the centre

The EY Tech Talent Builder program facilitates free IT training for Canadian veterans and their spouses to upskill and help find meaningful careers across Canada. The program aims to remove barriers of entry into IT careers while creating an exclusive net-new workforce to help meet the high demand for IT personnel in critical roles.

Since 2020, more than 3,000 people have enrolled in training. The program has directly helped more than 400 individuals find and secure new IT careers with our clients. The Tech Talent Builder program aims to bridge the gap between supply and demand of IT personnel by putting people at the centre to help shape the future with confidence.

Data-driven testing methodology and training programs

Delivering the right fit for your organization and the candidate starts with vendor-agnostic skills across a centralized pathway model which, in many cases, has led to talent outperforming experience. Tech Talent Builder candidates take the assessments outlined below, the results of which aid in matching them to the career path they’re most likely to excel in, leading to increased job satisfaction and productivity.

Candidates are put into accelerated learning and then EY works with our clients to match them to roles leading to both meaningful employment for the veteran and highly skilled talent for the organization.

The Benefits

  • Supports veterans upskill, find and earn meaningful employment after their service to Canada in highly sought-after careers.
  • Training is free for all veterans and their spouses, removing the barriers of entry into meaningful IT careers. 
  • Individuals are provided with 300+ hours of free training in one of 16 IT competencies. 
  • By providing the necessary training to foster their skills, we can help veterans thrive in a new career following military service. 
  • This program doesn’t just provide free upskilling. It’s designed to help individuals in finding their first IT career. They’re also free to find employment outside the program since employment matching is optional for all candidates, and the training remains free.

  • Access to a new and dynamic veteran workforce designed to fulfill your organization’s IT requirements while benefiting from the individuals’ past experiences, training and characteristics.
