EY's Summer Internship was my first step into the business world. I worked on live client deals, met a diverse range of people and utilised sophisticated analytical tools. The skills I gained enabled me to join as a graduate.

    Transaction Diligence

When corporations or private equity clients prepare to do big deals, they need to know there won’t be any surprises. Whether a company is selling a part of or all its business or acquiring a new business, our team specialises in financial due diligence – assessing risks and opportunities – and reporting on these to our clients, their banks, investors and others.

    Technology in Transaction Diligence

Using technology and analytics is fundamental to what we do. We have innovative Analytics capabilities; we use Alteryx and PowerBI to analyse large datasets to obtain data insights for our clients, adding value to the deals we work on.

    What will you be doing?

    • Working with a range of clients, which could be local or international, corporate or private equity
    • Working on market-leading transactions, whilst receiving both on-the-job training and formal training
    • Learning from industry experts on real client projects
    • Developing your analytical skills, diligencing the performance of companies and understanding how they operate
    • Working closely in project teams with Graduates, to Senior Managers and Partners
    • Using your networking and relationship-building skills
    • Are you eligible to apply?

If you’re in your penultimate year at university, or if you’re already in your final year but will be doing a one-year Master’s degree, or taking a gap year, this internship is for you. We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will however, need to be working towards an honours degree in any subject, have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.

We welcome applications from all academic backgrounds and are looking for individuals who will succeed at EY in the desired role and future qualifications, therefore throughout our recruitment process your academic performance will be considered against your online assessment scores to determine your suitability for an EY role. We are also proud to partner with RARE recruitment, so that your application can be processed in the context of your socio-economic background. This allows us to give you the maximum credit for your achievements, assessing whether you have overachieved in light of your personal circumstances.

Join a supportive and inclusive culture, build your strengths and develop new business skills. Working on client projects, gain insight into our service offerings and become an integral part of our team. We're proud to have won awards for being one of the best companies to work for.

    How’s it structured?

Be completely immersed in the world of work at EY. After a company induction, you’ll spend time developing an understanding of Transaction Diligence with a focused training induction. You will then join a project team on a live client project, gaining the same experience and exposure as a new graduate across the different elements of the transaction. You will be supported by a buddy and careers counselling manager as well as meet and network with the rest of the team.

At the end of the internship, there is the opportunity to be fast-tracked into a graduate role after you complete your degree.

The Summer Internship is a great way to get a feel for the job, environment and industry. I gained valuable skills and made wonderful connections. This contributed to me accepting a graduate position after university.
